IIBEC Colorado Chapter co-hosts seminar with CRA and NRCA, 2nd quarter 2019

On Wednesday April 24, 2019, IIBEC Colorado Chapter (formerly Denver Chapter) co-hosted an educational seminar with Reid Ribble, CEO of NRCA. The program discussed NRCAs new initiative – ProCertification, provided updates on the Roofing Day in DC, and other hot topics in the roofing business such as silica testing, OSHA regulations and updated manuals.

City & County of Denver present at Colorado Chapter 4th Quarter Program, 2019

On Monday, December 16, 2019, IIBEC Colorado Chapter hosted Mr. Scott Prisco and Ms. Christy Collins from the City & County of Denver for an “Ask a Building Official” for their 4th quarter program. The speakers discussed the Green Building Ordinance and other code requirements from the Denver jurisdiction. 2 CEHs were awarded to the attendees. Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed the annual holiday social with light appetizers and beverages.

CRA & IIBEC Colorado Chapter co-host educational seminar, 1st quarter 2019

Tuesday, February 5, 2019, The IIBEC Colorado Chapter (formerly Denver Chapter) and Colorado Roofing Association (CRA) co-hosted an 2019 1st quarter educational seminar – Denver Green Buildings Ordinance Update. Chapter leaders  Rich Boone, Dan  Cupit, and Kade Gromkowski presented. 2.5 IIBEC CEHs were awarded to the attendees.

IIBEC Colorado Chapter hosts “Energy Efficient Buildings through C-Pace”

On January 28, 2020, IIBEC Colorado Chapter and Professional Roofing Education co-hosted a seminar to break down the requirements of the recent adoption of Denver’s Green Building Ordinance and Energy Program. Ms. Christy Collins, representing the City & County of Denver, provided an overview of the inclusions and exclusions for meeting green roof requirements in the jurisdiction. Mr. Francis Walker of Auric Energy provided detailed information for benefits of adding solar power to a site and how installation can compliment a roof assembly as well as work toward achieving the requirements of the Energy Program. Finally, Mr. Tracy Phillips, Director of C-Pace, provided up to date information on how building owners can use privately funded loans to faciliate building renovations such as addition of solar panels, window replacements, and other large capital expeditures which would otherwise not be feasible. Following the seminar, attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception and the surrounding historic car and motorcycle collection at the Lamar Street Center.
